For a while now I’ve been messing around with a silly idea: what if a game generated itself as you played it? Not “procedural” in the usual noise-function sense, but an RPG where the skills, biomes, items, creatures, and even the art get dreamed up by a language model the moment you run into them, then cached so the world sticks around. It’s finally in a state where I’m okay letting other people poke at it, so Endless Game is now open source. I want to say up front that it is nowhere near finished. But I think the core idea is fun, and mostly I just want to see what other people can make out of it.
